MAIN FUNCTIONS:
- The Wells Advisor job role is meant to convey the generic kinds of experiences and skill proficiencies of a late-career/ Expert-competency level individual in this role.
- In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Resources should be well versed in drilling, well, or construction operations.
- Wells Advisors typically have expertise in one or more job family skills and serve as resources to mentor and develop the broader organization.
- Wells Advisors are essential in order to mentor and advise drilling and completion engineers on well planning, well design, and operational surveillance for the safe and efficient drilling and completing of drilling programs.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates local construction, well, or drilling contractors during the multiple phases of operations.
- Evaluates, qualifies, and oversees local contractors to ensure Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) license to operate commitments are implemented.
- Creates and stewards accurate location plat drawings for use in regulatory permitting and government interface purposes.
- Manages all aspects of the related process acting as the company representative, ensuring that the well site is constructed in accordance with the approved location plat.
- Interacts with project teams and supports security location modifications as necessary.
- Attends meetings and represents function as necessary.
- Verifies cost estimates and invoices, confirming that work scope was completed as per agreed contractual commitments.
- Provide operational and drilling construction reference to PMT during detail design development, construction and commissioning of drilling components of offshore platform.
- Primary interface between Topsides design team, O&M Contractor and Drilling Operations team.
- Ensure the Drilling Equipment Set (DES) and Drilling Support Module (DSM) are safe and meet company expectations in regard to fit for purpose (e.g., equipment sizing/rating, laydown area, storage).
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in engineering or related technical field.
- 20 – 30 years of related experience is required with well, construction, or drilling planning and execution.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to organize and progress own work schedule; adaptability to changing priorities.
- Experience working within multi-disciplined team environment involving multiple stakeholders.
- Familiar with Operator and Completion Standards, References, and Best Practices.
- Familiar with applicable industry related codes (API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS, IMO).
- Knowledge of Offshore Oil and Gas regulations Established tools and enabler to support the position functionality.
- Fluent in English and native language.
- Ability to travel offshore.
