Wells Advisor Level 1
MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Wells Advisor job role is meant to convey the generic kinds of experiences and skill proficiencies of a late-career/ Expert-competency level individual in this role. In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Resources should be well versed in drilling, well, or construction operations. Well Advisors typically have expertise in one or more job family skills and serve as resources to mentor and develop the broader organization. Wells Advisors are essential in order to mentor and advise drilling and completion engineers on well planning, well design, and operational surveillance for the safe and efficient drilling and completing of drilling programs.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical guidance/advisory support to Production/Wells Maintenance Leads and Technicians in matters related to well integrity (well integrity risk guidance/assessment of wells with defective barriers, diagnostics, and remediation plan)
- Provide administrative oversight to the well integrity management space (preventive/corrective maintenance performance, well maintenance PM completion, compliance, risk discovery health, etc.)
- Provide strategic guidance supporting Well Operation Supervisor- Well Maintenance in improving well integrity management processes (strengthening processes, improving efficiency, eliminating blind spots in risk discovery, and providing the organization and management team adequate line of sights of the broader well integrity issues)
- Review well maintenance KPIs (and improve on KPI metric as needed) to management team
- Support strategic improvement in overall wells space specifically supporting Well maintenance valve failure remediation, new technology application etc.)
- Mentor engineers, Well Maintenance Leads and technicians to develop technical skills in areas concerning wells, especially on well integrity
- Managing day to day Hit Team Operations including People, Process (Safety) and Equipment.
- Take the lead on Hit Team daily morning calls wrt activities discussion, jobs plan, logistic, equipment and others.
- Providing daily leadership in personnel and process safety i.e Safety Alert review, SA lessons learned, UCUX, BEOB, CPRS, safe choice concept and etc.
- Providing interface support with Contractor Management on personnel welfare / expectations i.e Personnel Business Travel Authorization.
- Providing support and approve contractor personnel for Laptop use, smart card and IPES access.
- Providing leadership to contractor personnel on Operator Company Business Of Conduct (COI), Cyber Security Awareness and others.
- Monitoring Well Maintenance Lead Required Competency (RCs) and other trainings requirement for team members.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in engineering or related technical field
- More than 20 years of related experience is required with well, construction, or drilling planning and execution
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize and progress own work schedule; adaptability to changing priorities
- Experience working within multi-disciplined team environment involving multiple stakeholders
- Familiar with Operator Drilling and Completion Standards, References, and Best Practices
- Familiar with applicable industry related codes (API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS, IMO)
- Knowledge of Offshore Oil and Gas regulations
