Chemical Exposure Monitoring (CEM)
Chemical Exposure Monitoring (CEM) simply means an assessment of chemical airborne vapors, fumes, dust particles or mists that exposed to workers. This assessment shall be conducted to ensure that employee exposures to chemicals hazardous to health are within permissible limits.
According to Occupational Safety and health (USECHH) Regulations 2000, employers shall ensure that the chemical is being monitored using an approved method of monitoring and analysis. Besides, chemical Exposure monitoring should be conducted by a hygiene technician 1 (Chemical Exposure Monitoring) who recognized by Department of Occupational and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
