MAIN FUNCTIONS
Represents the company on a rig site to support the safe and efficient execution of well plans. Is the primary contact for rig and third party personnel to ensure logistics for personnel, equipment and services are appropriately organized and managed.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for communicating expectations regarding safety, security, health, and environment; provides guidance and supports managing Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) events
• Responsible for communicating Operations Integrity Management Systems (Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) ) expectations on the rig site
• Monitors rig operations to provide feedback and input to the rig contractor to ensure well control procedures are properly followed and emergency situations are appropriately managed
• Responsible for ensuring that safety, operational, environmental, security and other drills are conducted on site at specified frequencies
• Responsible for ensuring drilling and completion procedures are followed as approved and utilizes management of change processes if changes are required
• Orders and organizes logistics for services and equipment necessary to conduct drilling and completion operations efficiently
• Supports onsite surveillance requirements for the operation in areas such as kick detection, abnormal pressure detection, torque & drag, mud properties, and solids control efficiency
• Responsible for generation of accurate and adequate operations reports
• Interfaces with engineering and geology to ensure understanding of well objectives and procedural requirements
• Ensures that rig and third party equipment is adequately and properly maintained.
• Ensure accurate and adequate reports and records are kept regarding operations, equipment, and evaluation
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience in rig supervisory or rig leadership roles for drilling and completion operations
- Minimum 20 years’ experience working for a major Operator or Drilling Contractor
- Hold current certification for IADC Well Control
The Drilling Supervisor position will work as a member of the Wells team and is responsible for the execution of the WL4-00 and SK304 drilling programs (3 wells/90 days). These programs include the preparation, execution, abandonment and after action reviews of the wells. Spud of the first well is planned first Quarter 2022.
The Drilling Supervisor will:-- Begin rotational work approximately 2 weeks prior to spud date to prepare for drilling of the well and will be working on a 28/28 day rotational basis.
- The Drilling Supervisor will be onboard the rig prior to rig move.
- Providing direct offshore based supervision of the day-to-day operations and supervise contractor personnel when carrying out drilling, completion, well testing and abandonment operations. Coordinating all aspects of Well Operations activities to ensure that wells are drilled in a safe, cost effective, and environmentally responsible manner, adhering to all company core values, corporate fiduciary requisites and policies, and country legislation.
- The Drilling Supervisor will report to the Drilling Superintendent onshore.
- Responsible for safety and environmental awareness with all offshore company / contract staff such that operations are carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Conduct safety and environmental audits on the rig.
- Being a visible and proactive safety leader to all offshore personnel.
- Lead offshore Drilling Team during the well execution phases. Provide supervision and direction to the drill crew and rig service personnel to ensure that rig operations are conducted in accordance with applicable programs/procedures and that safe work practice is always followed.
- Produce and distribute Daily Orders to ensure detailed instructions are issued to the team offshore. Ensure work plans are communicated and understood by all involved personnel.
- Maintain and distribute a 12-day lookahead to ensure personnel, logistics, vessels, helicopters are managed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Exercise leadership and judgment in dealing with emergencies; and in particular act as an expert resource in well control situations.
- Ensure that equipment and procedures are in place to deal with emergencies and unexpected deviations from the well plan.
- Ensure optimal deployment of wellsite resources and logistical support by planning ahead for likely operations and contingencies.
- Ensure good communication between office, logistics base and rig.
- Coordinate, supervise, and critique service company activities.
- Continuously identify ways to reduce costs and improve work program effectiveness without sacrificing safety, quality, production rates, or reserves.
- Provide technical recommendations, support and advice to the following: Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Engineers, G&G, Drilling contractor management personnel, service company personnel and to Completion Engineer(s) and Test Engineer(s) where applicable.
- Mentor and develop rig site drilling/completion/production engineers where applicable.
- Ensure that all safety, regulatory, and environmental guidelines are followed.
- Ensure that all corporate policies and practices are maintained and adhered to.
- Provide office based operational support as required.
Special Skills, Training and Certifications: Must hold a valid BOSIET Offshore certificate (OPITO approved) and Offshore Medical approved by Petronas for Offshore Malaysia, IWCF or IADC well control certificate for Drilling Supervisor.

The Wellsite Geologist will work with the Senior Wellsite Geologist in the transmission of all wellsite generated geological related data in a timely fashion. Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
Safety: Training, familiarity and use of Company's safety programs is required.
Remain alert for real or potential safety problems and report all such problems to the responsible party and /or the Company's Drilling Supervisor on the rig. Participate in all related HSE rigsite exercises.
Communication: Proactively communicate information and provide operations update to Drilling Supervisor and Operations Geologist to discuss ongoing work, concerns, forward plans, etc. Acts as the wellsite representative of the Company Subsurface / G&G team.
Work closely with wellsite drilling supervisors to keep them up to date on all pertinent geological-related activities during drilling operations and provide advice to assist in a safe, cost-effective drilling as well as non-drilling operations.
Attends daily rigsite drilling meeting and serves as key interface between Company Drilling Supervisor and geological related rigsite services including problem troubleshooting. Maintain effective communication with Mudlogging, Coring Engineer, LWD/MWD and Wireline service providers, clerks, and contractors to enhance continuous improvement processes.
Supervision: Supervise the mudlogging operations / data, including their rig monitoring, sample catching, and their preparation of mud logs, drilling data logs, show reports, and daily and other reports.
Supervision of all M/LWD & Wireline logging operations and data acquisition, including depth calibration, log splicing and environmental corrections. Recommend to the Company any opportunity to decrease cost & risk and improve data quality. Execute the coring decisions made by the Company Subsurface team; and reporting cuttings and other information and analysis to aid the Subsurface team to determine the final Coring Point. Responsible for taking digital pictures during several critical stages, e.g. during the laying down of the core from vertical to horizontal position. Evaluate drill cuttings for lithology and hydrocarbon shows, prepare and keep current a detailed interpretive Lithology Log and perform correlations with offset well data and the well’s prognosis. Call casing setting depth and wireline logging points, in consultation with Company's Drilling Supervisor on the rig, Company's other representatives on the rig, and Company's operations staff in Kuala Lumpur. Assist the FE Engineer and Drilling Supervisor in coordinating, QA/QC and monitoring of wireline operations. Supervise handling, packing and labeling of all samples prior to dispatch to laboratory (e.g: Conventional cores, Formation Tester fluid samples, mud gas Isotubes, IsoJars and and sidewall cores). Supervise the collecting, processing and dispatching of conventional cores and formation cutting samples to warehouse location. Monitor the quality of contract Formation Evaluation (FE) services and the and the expertise of FE contractor personnel. Immediately advise Company’s Drilling Supervisor on the rig and the Kuala Lumpur office (Operations Geologist) of any perceived deficiencies. Equally, advise Company’s Drilling Supervisor on the rig and Operations Geologist of perceived cases of excellent service. Mentor Geoscience Operations Trainee while at wellsite, if required. Analyze, evaluate and describe formations while drilling using drilled cuttings, drilling parameters, gas, M/LWD and Wireline data and compare these data with predictions made at offset well exploration stage. Monitor, evaluate and quality control of collecting, processing, dispatching of formation evaluation results and logs prior to accepting the fluid sample, formation sample, conventional core, sidewall core, data, or logs from contractors of Mud Logging, LWD/MWD, Coring, Wireline Logging. Perform “quick look” analysis/ interpretation of the formation evaluation data/logs, and ensure timely transmittal of the logs in digital and hard copy (fax) format to specified destinations. Reporting: Writing detailed geological reports for cuttings, sidewall cores, fluid sampling and wireline logging operations.
Generates the Daily Geological Reports ensuring all relevant wellsite geological data is fully up to date.
