Inspection, Testing and Examination of Engineering Control equipment is crucial to be done to ensure the effectiveness of engineering control equipment in the workplace. These activities are required under the requirement of Occupational Safety and health (USECHH) Regulations 2000.
An employer must appoint, hire, or employ competent persons called Hygiene Technician (HT2) to carry out the inspection and testing of the effectiveness of engineering control equipment in accordance with the standards set by the Department. Hygiene Technician 2 (HT2) is responsible for conducting inspections and testing of the effectiveness of engineering control equipment in the workplace as required under the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standard disclosure of Hazardous Chemicals to Health) Regulations 2000.
