MAIN FUNCTIONS
Monitoring and managing machinery condition in the field. Troubleshoots problems and performs repairs as needed. Regularly inspects equipment and executes preventative maintenance plans. To perform and participate in the trouble shooting maintenance activities of the plant rotating equipment including pumps, centrifugal/Reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, Gas Turbines, fans, blowers, and high speed centrifugal air compressors packages.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable to enhance and maintain the overall quality of Production Operations equipment at onshore third party repair facilities. Need to understand the operation of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and/or instrumentation, Low & High Voltage electric motor, generators.
- Influence safety programs/practices at vendor repair facilities.
- Ensure that electrical equipment condition monitoring field work is executed safely and in accordance with all applicable local regulations, specifications, procedures, plans, and best practices (vibration analysis, surge/megger tests, thermography, and operator checks).
- Troubleshoots problems and performs repairs support as needed. Knowledgeable on installation of electrical equipment, electrical panel, electrical cabling, cable conduits, connecting of cabling, termination
- Plan and coordinate condition monitoring and/or installation field tasks with Operations, Maintenance, and Project Teams.
- Identify and report emerging reliability threats and equipment failures to the Repair Lead/ERT Supervisor/Program Owner.
- Support key machinery overhaul planning, including optimization of work scope based on machinery condition and operational parameters, and witness key overhaul stages.
- Participate in the inspection, testing, evaluation of electrical related repair work.
- Participate in RCFA/Failure investigation, problem solving skill including witnessing equipment teardowns.
- Participate in the major machines overhaul and repair, identify spare from manufacturer drawing and spare parts list.
- Understand rotor or individual equipment component balancing philosophy (e.g; correction calculation, method etc.)
- Understand and knowledgeable on motor health test (e.g insulation resistance, continuity surge comparison, core leak test etc).
- Certified Chargeman will be added advantage.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- More than 10 years’ experiences in Electrical equipment (not limited to LV & HV electric motor, Gas Turbines, Pumps, Compressors and Gear boxes etc.) and static equipment.
- Discipline appropriate certification(s) if applicable or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge or experience in condition monitoring of Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Pumps, Compressors and Gear boxes etc.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.
- Team Player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority and willingness to assist others.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
