About the Job:-
- Full responsibility for the quality control of geological data acquisition, including proper calibration of logging equipment prior to deployment.
Full responsibility and ownership for providing the rig-site interface between geological and drilling department requirements.
Report and advise the Operator of well conditions during all drilling related wellsite operations.
To understand and be aware of the geological implications during all wellsite operations. - Manage the operator’s reporting database (RWEB) and ensure the quality and integrity of the well data acquired. All data pertaining to the well such as gas log, mudlog and etc provided by the vendor to be QC prior to upload in the database system (RWEB).
- Ensure timely communication of pertinent data to operations people on the rig and in town.
- Evaluate as required, mudlogging, wireline and LWD/PWD data at the wellsite, providing detailed evaluations to town as requested.
- Be familiar with PETRONAS & MP HSSE requirements.
- Be aware of safety regulations and procedures as specified by the Company, Mudlogging, LWD/PWD and Wireline Logging Contractors, and relevant safety authorities. Respect safety regulations in all circumstances and ensure that all personnel under his/her supervision do the same.
- Be aware of and implement all requirements to maintain a quality service within the scope of operations. The major objective is to provide the best services in order to meet and / or exceed Company’s satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- A degree in Geosciences, Geophysics or Geology.
- An excellent understanding of mudlogging, LWD/PWD and wireline logging tools, equipment, operations and acquisition, as well as drilling and upstream processes.
- A thorough understanding of carbonate reservoir classification and evaluation techniques.
- At least 6 months’ experience in PMCD drilling operations and evaluation.
- A minimum of 10 years wellsite experience with a minimum of 5 years of that as a wellsite geologist
most of which should be offshore. At least 5 years wellsite experience in mudlogging and pressure
engineering disciplines are desired to fulfil position as a consulting Wellsite Geologist. - Must have previous experience with mudlogging, field services (LWD or Wireline Engineer) companies or with an Oil and Gas Operator.
▪ Experience in PMCD operations is required.
▪ Experience with Pore Pressure and Fracture Gradient prediction is required.
▪ Experience in carbonate classification, interpretation and drilling operations is required. - Observation and investigation skills.
- G&G software skills specifically the RWEB reporting database application would be highly desirable.
- Data Interpretation skills.
- Mathematical and numerical ability.
